Help A Cat In Need
Cat Nipped is an environmental-saving initiative by the AHFS that humanely traps, spays or neuters, then returns feral cats to their colonies. Every dollar donated goes directly toward surgeries, medications, trapping efforts, and ensuring each cat is healthy before being returned. Your support helps stop the cycle of suffering and reduces the number of stray cats on the streets while allowing them to live out the rest of their lives healthier and safer.
Each feral cat captured costs about $130 to successfully trap, alter, then release. This is not including additional medication, procedures, or trapping supplies. As a registered Non Profit, all donations over $100 will receive a receipt with EIN number for tax deduction purposes.

Cat Nipped (TNR)
Feral cats are often the unseen, unspoken members of our communities—living in alleyways, abandoned lots, and quiet corners of neighborhoods. While many of them are not suited for life as household pets, they still deserve care, dignity, and protection. That’s why the Association of Holistic Feline Specialists (AHFS) created Cat Nipped, a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program focused on reducing overpopulation, promoting feline health, and supporting the delicate balance between cats and the communities they live in.
What Is Cat Nipped
Cat Nipped is a humane and targeted TNR initiative that safely traps feral cats, provides them with spay or neuter surgery, administers any necessary medications, and then returns them to their original location—healthier and no longer contributing to the cycle of overpopulation.
This approach is widely recognized as the most effective and compassionate way to manage feral cat populations. While some cats can be rehabilitated or rehomed, the reality is that many feral cats are not candidates for adoption due to their behavior, stress levels in captivity, or lack of socialization. Returning them to the territory they know not only minimizes stress and disorientation but also allows them to continue living in an environment they’re familiar with—often with established food sources and social groups.
Why It Matters
Shelters across the country are overwhelmed, and euthanasia rates remain high for unadoptable animals, particularly feral cats. By intervening before litters are born, Cat Nipped breaks the cycle at its source. Each cat that’s fixed prevents dozens—sometimes hundreds—of future births, easing the burden on shelters and reducing the number of cats living in hardship.
In addition to population control, spaying and neutering improves the overall health and safety of the cats themselves. Fixed cats are less likely to fight, roam, or suffer from certain infections and diseases. They live longer, healthier lives—and their communities benefit from fewer cat-related complaints and disturbances.
Where Your Support Goes
Cat Nipped is entirely community-driven, and we rely on the generosity of individuals like you. Financial contributions are essential to the success of this program. Every dollar goes directly toward:
-
Trapping and transport equipment
-
Spay and neuter surgeries
-
Medications and vaccinations
-
Recovery care and health monitoring
In the future, we aim to establish a scholarship fund to assist pet owners who cannot afford spay or neuter services—empowering more people to prevent unwanted litters and reduce irresponsible breeding. There are an estimated 20-60 million feral cats alone in the United States, so it's imperative that individuals step forward to help, and organizations such as this pull resources to help make an impact, as this is a huge task to undertake.
