Feline First Certification

The Feline First™ Certification Program is a feline exclusive holistic certification for anyone who works with or cares for cats, whether you are a groomer, boarder, breeder, rescue professional, or dedicated cat owner. Our two day program is designed to improve care outcomes by reducing fear and supporting safer, and more successful collaborative care.

The Association of Holistic Feline Specialists is a globally recognized organization, supporting effective and safe whole-cat care throughout the world. The Feline First Certification Program is the first and only holistic certification that is dedicated solely to feline health and safety.

Day One establishes the foundation of The CAT Method™, offering feline centric education grounded in anatomy, physiology, and real life application. Participants strengthen decision making skills, learn how to create a feline centered environment, and apply practical adaptations that reduce fear and increase tolerance for care.

Day Two is dedicated to feline exclusive First Aid and CPR, taught with feline physiology and stress considerations in mind. This day includes hands on practice, which is essential for developing correct techniques, timing, and pressure that cannot be learned through theory alone and is critical for safe, effective emergency response.

Attendance for both days is required to complete the Feline First™ Certification Program, and the Feline First Aid + CPR certification is valid for two years before renewal is due.

Upon successful completion of The Feline First™ Certification Program, participants will receive:

  • The Feline First™ Certificate: verifying demonstrated competency in feline-specific safety principles, health, anatomy, emergency preparedness, and risk-reduction practices over a course of 12 hours. Completion includes a two year Feline First Aid + CPR Certificate, for a total of two certificates.
  • Feline First Holistic Cat Groomer Credential

Initial Certification is a two day process, with renewals occurring 30 days before or after renewal date. Renewals are a one day process, with updated Feline First Aid + CPR safety certificate and The CAT Method™ overview with appropriate demonstration. Upon two year renewal, members have the opportunity to request additional education day. All renewals must be demonstrated hands on in person.
